The roads are always changing. So to ensure you always enjoy the best navigation experience, TomTom helps you keep your map up to date – right from the start.

When you buy a brand new TomTom device, there’s a small chance that a newer map has been released since your device was manufactured. So to make sure you start driving with the latest map, we offer our latest map guarantee.

If a newer version of your map is available within 30 days of first using your device, the latest map guarantee lets you download this new map for free* using TomTom HOME / MyTomTom.

* you are only entitled to one free map download

How do I start driving with the latest map?

It’s easy to claim your latest map guarantee and start driving with the latest map.

For GO 800, 1000, 2000 series, Start 20 series, VIA series & Sony XNV devices:

Latest Map Guarantee has temporarily been extended to 90 days from first using your device.

You can use MyTomTom, to check if a newer map is available. Simply connect your device, switch it on, click the link below and follow the on-screen instructions.
If a new map is not offered, it means you already have the latest map.

For all other TomTom devices:

Latest Map Guarantee is valid for 30 days from first using your device You can use TomTom HOME, to check if a newer map is available. Simply connect your device, switch it on, click the link below and follow the on-screen instructions. This will also help you to install TomTom HOME, if you don't have it installed yet.

If a new map is not offered, it means you already have the latest map.

Don’t forget: in order to qualify for the latest map guarantee, you must check if a new map is available within the Latest Map Guarantee period. And you are only entitled to one free map download.

Because our maps are getting more detailed and therefore bigger, some new maps may not completely fit on your device. In these cases we have divided these maps into detailed Map Zones which you can download individually as you need them.
Each Map Zone covers a sizeable area and while you can only use one Map Zone on your device at a time, you still have access to the whole map. You can change to another Map Zone at any time using TomTom HOME.
