To work correctly, your TomTom Action Camera continuously captures and stores information while you record video. This includes information about where you are and other information, such as action data and heart rate (via optional accessory if paired). This information is contained within your video files to allow for easy retrieval when providing the features contained in the companion applications. Stories created via the Bandit mobile app remove this additional information from the video file. When you pair your Action Camera with your mobile, or insert your Batt-Stick to your PC, the information can be uploaded to TomTom to enable the advanced features of the companion applications. We need your permission for that. Below you can read for which features and purposes you can allow us to use your information. You can change these settings at any time and we will act accordingly. When you share video to a platform that hosts video such as YouTube, Facebook or Vimeo, your video and associated data will be transmitted to that platform in order for it be available. How the information you share with third-party providers is used is subject to the way each particular service provider or social media works and is governed by their privacy policies. By registering with your name and email address you will receive support, be able to participate in our user forums and be able to download software updates. None of the information captured on your Action Camera will be uploaded, unless you also activate or use one or more of the options below.
Receive Tips And Suggestions
We will also use your information to provide you with tips and suggestions based on your usage statistics and results. They are meant to improve the way you capture video and your Story creation. They can also contain suggestions to purchase additional products or services. You can opt out of our mailings in the TomTom Sports App settings.
Help Us Improve
We will use your information to help us improve our products and services, but only after we have made sure it is not linked to you in any way. These products and services include the Action Camera itself, as well as maps and statistical or aggregated information. You can disable this option in the Bandit Mobile app settings. TomTom uses software to collect information about how you use the TomTom software. This usage information is processed in the EU to create general usage statistics and to improve the user experience and our services. The usage information that TomTom collects does not contain location information or information that you have entered. The TomTom software also sends diagnostic information, for example if the app crashes, which includes information that identifies your device, to Crashlytics. The diagnostic information is subject to the Crashlytics privacy policy, which can be found here: http://try.crashlytics.com/terms/. The collected diagnostic information is processed in the USA and used by TomTom to improve the TomTom software. You can choose to send usage and diagnostic information or to stop sending this information at any time by changing the settings or preferences in the TomTom software on your device. Your TomTom Action Camera uses your recorded location information and action data to turn your best moments into video highlights so you can find them again easily after you have finished recording. To improve this feature, we extract this information from your recorded video, and upload to TomTom to understand the performance of our algorithms. The way in which you have made edits to your video highlights can then be understood and integrated into future updates to our Camera and companion application software.

Your data is stored in the EU, and is subject to European data protection laws. TomTom applies security methods based on industry standards to protect your data against unauthorised access, while stored and while being sent to and retrieved from your devices and apps. We will not give anyone else access to your information or use it for any other purpose, unless explicitly and lawfully ordered to do so following due legal process.
