Lancia Ypsilon

TomTom’s full-stack navigation fuels Lancia’s new era

Lancia marks a new beginning with the debut of the Lancia Ypsilon: the brand’s first electric model, powered by TomTom’s full stack of maps, navigation and connected services.

In February 2024, Lancia ushered in a long-awaited renaissance with the introduction of the brand’s first new model in more than a decade and its first-ever all-electric vehicle (EV). The new Lancia Ypsilon launches in a limited-edition, 100% electric version: the Ypsilon Limited Edition Cassina.

Available exclusively in Italy, Lancia will produce just 1,906 units of the Ypsilon Limited Edition Cassina as a tribute to the brand’s founding year. Lancia will then introduce EV and mild hybrid versions to customers across key European markets, starting in mid-2024. The first countries to get involved will be Belgium and the Netherlands, followed by France and Spain, then Germany and the United Kingdom.

TomTom acts as key navigation partner on Lancia’s new journey

The Ypsilon Limited Edition Cassina marks another first by debuting Lancia’s S.A.L.A. (Sound Air Light Augmentation) infotainment system, which will make its way into the brand’s entire future range. This innovative digital cockpit features TomTom’s intuitive user interface across two in-car screens and full-stack navigation behind the dash.

As navigation tech partner, TomTom provides its full suite of maps and connected services to the Lancia Ypsilon. Drivers will be able to count on ultra-accurate TomTom maps and over-the-air updates for the freshest content.

Additionally, TomTom EV Services takes the guesswork and stress out of finding available, compatible charging points thanks to its comprehensive global coverage of EV charging stations. TomTom’s solution also fully supports Free2Move Charge: an EV charging and energy management ecosystem by Stellantis. The Free2Move Charge network is closely integrated with TomTom maps and provides real-time information on EV charging points, promoting stress-free driving for all Lancia Ypsilon users.

The in-car experience is further enriched by TomTom connected services – including speed cameras, advanced weather, online search and parking – giving drivers everything they need to enjoy safe, comfortable journeys.

Lancia Ypsilon and TomTom have a strong partnership heritage. It started in 2006 with the first TomTom GO and expanded in 2011 with the launch of semi-integrated connected navigation. We are delighted to continue the partnership with the newer generation of this iconic smart city car, where TomTom technology will support relaxed, stress-free driving integrated with sustainable mobility.
